GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
- To develop the walking skills necessary to perform a physical activity that will promote a healthy level of fitness.
- Students will know the implications and the benefits from involvement in physical activities.
- Each student will learn the values of physical activity and its contribution to a healthy lifestyle.
- Students will be able to demonstrate responsible personal and social behavior in a physical activity setting.
- Students will demonstrate an understanding and respect for differences among people in a physical activity setting.
GRADING SCALE:
A = 93 - 100% B+ = 87 - 89% C+ = 77 - 79% D+= 67 - 69%
A- = 90 92% B = 83 - 86% C = 73 - 76% D = 63 66%
F = 0 59% B- = 80 82% C- = 70 72% D- = 60 62%
GRADING BREAKDOWN FOR A 10 POINT DAY:
- You earn 3 points for warm-up activity at the beginning of the period.
- You earn 5 points for full activity during class period.
- You earn 2 points for warm-down activity at the end of the period.
CLASS RULES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Appropriate clothing must be worn.
- Athletic shoes only. No sandals, flip flops, high heels or cleated shoes.
- No head phones except when we walk on Meadowdale Highs track.
- No food or drink in the classroom.
- Points lost due to an excused absence can be made up. Excused absences include, illness, field trips, or injuries.
- Leaving class early will result in the loss of daily points and you will be subject to disciplinary action.
