What are scholarships?
Scholarships award money for education expenses based on criteria such as academics, athletics, community service, or financial need. Community organizations, colleges, religious institutions and private companies are examples of scholarship providers. Regardless of your background or immigration status, there is likely a scholarship for you.
Where can I look for scholarships?
Local sources:
- Local community foundations
- Credit unions, banks
- Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis club
College-specific scholarships:
- Find the "Financial Aid" or "Scholarship" page on a colleges website
Google searches:
- Instead of generic searches such as "scholarships for college", be more specific to find what you need by saying: "scholarships for first-generation students in Washington" or "engineering scholarships for high school seniors".
Big databases:
- Search engines such as The WashBoard, Fastweb, College Board, etc.
What types of scholarships can I apply for?
- Academic/Merit: based on GPA, test scores, and/or coursework
- Athletic: based on athletic performance
- Creative: based on talent in art, music, or dance
- Community Service: based on involvement in your school or community
- Diversity: based on race, ethnicity, family heritage, religion, sexual orientation, etc.
- Need-Based: based on financial need
- Other: leadership, alumni, etc.
How do I apply?
- Research scholarships you are eligible for.
- Submit your applications; make sure to following instructions carefully!
- Complete the FAFSA and/or WASFA.

- Available exclusively to children and grandchildren of dues-paying Elks members.

Washington State Elks Vocational Grant -- Elks Club
- Open to all graduating high school seniors who are US Citizens and who are pursuing an eligible Vocational/Technical program beyond high school.

- The WUC Foundation awards $10,000 scholarships to young women based on character, scholarship, and community service performed independent of their school requirements.

- For graduating seniors from WA State who plan to enroll in an eligible STEM or health care major at an eligible WA State college or University.

WA State School Retirees Association (WSSRA) Scholarship
- For graduating seniors planning to pursue a career in Education.

Lynnwood Emblem Club
- For graduating seniors who are US Citizens, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and who have active participation/service in their community (this could be scouts, church, after school groups, non-profit organizations, cultural groups, fraternal organizations, etc.)

Edmonds Rotary Scholarship
- For graduating seniors from Meadowdale, Edmonds-Woodway, and Scriber Lake High Schools planning to attend a Vocational, Technical, Associate, Apprenticeship Training Program, Community College, College or University. Application can be submitted to the Career Center.
- Deadline: March 2nd, 2026

American Indian Endowed Scholarship
- The American Indian Endowed Scholarship (AIES) helps students with financial need who have close social and cultural ties to an American Indian community in Washington State. Students can use the scholarship at public colleges and many independent colleges in Washington.

2025-26 WACCER Scholarship
- The Washington Association for Career Counseling & Employment Readiness will award scholarships to qualified graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellence in the field of Career & Technical Education (CTE) during high school.

2025 Ewing C Kelly Scholarship
- The Ewing C. Kelly Scholarship is designed to reward students who demonstrate good citizenship while striving to attain their academic goals. Applicants will be judged on their academic merit, extracurricular achievements--both scholastically and in their community--and financial need. Open to graduating seniors in WA state.

Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling Student Scholarship
- The Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling (PNACAC) annually awards one-time scholarships to students planning to attend a regionally accredited college or university. For 2026, eleven $1,500 scholarships will be awarded, with one specifically for students enrolled in a tribe.
- Currently enrolled student who is in their senior year of high school in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington and plans to attend a regionally accredited college or university in the coming Fall

Sno-King School Retirees Scholarship
- For graduating seniors from Edmonds, Northshore, or Shoreline School Districts. Selection of award winners will be based on scholarship, school activities, community service, career goal in the educational field, and may/may not include financial need.

Foundation for Edmonds School District (ESD) Scholarships
- The Foundation for ESD is offering merit and need-based scholarships for students graduating from the Edmonds School District in 2026. These awards are for students pursuing educational programs at a university, community college or vocational-technical institution. Multiple scholarships are available!

Norm Manly Maritime Education Scholarship
- Eager to launch your career in the maritime sector? If you are you a Washington resident graduating from high school in 2025 and going into a maritime school or training program, you are eligible to apply.

Providence General Children's Association Scholarship
- Open to graduating seniors who have volunteered at least 75 hours in a field involving the health and/or welfare of children. Special consideration will be given to a recipient who is pursuing a degree that encompasses the health and/or welfare of children. Financial need will be considered when awarding these scholarships.

- For graduating seniors attending college in the fall and who plan to pursue an area of study related to / supporting facility maintenance and operations.

Lake Washington Singers Annual Vocal Scholarship
- Open to high school students who are at least 15 years old; students are required to submit a completed 2026 Scholarship Application, as well as, a recorded audio files of applicant singing two vocal selections: America, the Beautiful (verse 1 only, A cappella) and one selection of the singer's choice (with accompaniment, required). All applicants must provide sheet music for their selected piece.

- Open to graduating seniors from Snohomish Co., Camano Island, and South Whidbey Island. Students must attend a college or university in WA, and be preparing for a career in education.

The Bev and Wes Stock Scholarship
- Scholarship for graduating high school Seniors in the State of Washington, administered by the Seattle Mariners Women’s Club (SMWC).
- This is a four year renewable scholarship opportunity for students who are planning to pursue a sports-related field of study. Areas of study can include, but are not limited to, the following: Sports Broadcasting/Journalism, Health Sciences, Physical Education, Health and Recreation, Physical Therapy, Sports Psychology, Nutrition, Exercise/Physiology, Athletic Training, Fitness Instructor, Sports Medicine, Kinesiology, Sports Analytics, Sports Marketing, Recreation Worker, Sports Coaching, Referee/Umpire, and Medicine.

- The Rob Norling Scholarship is for graduating seniors who are currently in the following programs at Sno-Isle Tech (Auto Body, Auto Tech, Diesel Power, Advance Manufacturing, Welding, Veterinary Assisting, and Construction Trades).
