GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

  1. To develop the walking skills necessary to perform a physical activity that will promote a healthy level of fitness.
  2. Students will know the implications and the benefits from involvement in physical activities.
  3. Each student will learn the values of physical activity and its contribution to a healthy lifestyle.
  4. Students will be able to demonstrate responsible personal and social behavior in a physical activity setting.
  5. Students will demonstrate an understanding and respect for differences among people in a physical activity setting.

GRADING SCALE:

A = 93 - 100% B+ = 87 - 89% C+ = 77 - 79% D+= 67 - 69%

A- = 90 92% B = 83 - 86% C = 73 - 76% D = 63 66%

F = 0 59% B- = 80 82% C- = 70 72% D- = 60 62%

GRADING BREAKDOWN FOR A 10 POINT DAY:

  1. You earn 3 points for warm-up activity at the beginning of the period.
  2. You earn 5 points for full activity during class period.
  3. You earn 2 points for warm-down activity at the end of the period.

CLASS RULES AND EXPECTATIONS:

  1. Appropriate clothing must be worn.
    1. Athletic shoes only. No sandals, flip flops, high heels or cleated shoes.
    2. No head phones except when we walk on Meadowdale Highs track.
  2. No food or drink in the classroom.
  3. Points lost due to an excused absence can be made up. Excused absences include, illness, field trips, or injuries.
  4. Leaving class early will result in the loss of daily points and you will be subject to disciplinary action.
