GENERAL COURSEOBJECTIVES:

  • Students will be able to identify and define thevarious aspects of fitness

    with regards to their physical,social, and emotional well being.

  • Students will be able to identify the benefits,basic components

    and various ways of assessingphysical fitness.

  • Students will design and implement a fitness andnutrition plan.
  • Students will perform in various activities thatpromote healthy physical,

    social, and emotional fitness.

    GRADING SCALE:

    A = 93-100% B+ = 87-89% C+ = 77-79% D+ = 65-69%

    A- = 90-92% B = 83-86% C = 73-76% D = 60-64%

    B-= 80-82% C- = 70-72% F = 0 -59%

    GRADING BREAKDOWN FORA 10 POINT DAY IN THE GYM:

  • You earn 10 points if you run 90% of the time ona 20 minute run.
  • You earn 7 points if you run more 70% of thetime on a 20 minute run.
  • You earn 5 points if you run/walk under 70% ofthe time on a 20 minute run.
  • You earn 0 points if you are a non-suit.

    MAKE UP WORK:

  • If we are in the classroom, you will have oneweek to make up missed work. I will alsokeep you in class during A.T. time to make up work.
  • I suggest using tutorial period to make upmissed work. I will be in the classroom at 6:50 a.m. on days we have class.
  • You can make up six days of excused absenceswhen we are doing gym activities. Youwill do one hour of physical activity for each day that you missed. This can include sport practices. You will need to have your parent sign adated note tell me the length of the activity and what activity you did to makeup the day.

    CLASS RULES ANDEXPECTATIONS:

  • Appropriateclothing must be worn.
  • Athleticshoes only. No sandals, flip flops, street or shoes.
  • Athleticshorts or sweats.
  • T-Shirtwith sleeves. No drug, alcohol, sexor smoking related clothing.
  • Noheadgear. Includes hats, stockingcaps, headbands and bandannas.
  • Non-suitswill result in the loss of all daily points.You can not make up a non-suit.
  • Leavingclass early will result in the loss of daily points and you will havedisciplinary consequences.
  • No cellphones in class.
  • Nolistening devices in class except for when we are doing running activities.

    MATERIALS ANDSUPPLIES NEEDED:

  • Note book paper
  • Pen or pencil
  • Gym clothes
