FAFSA website, www.fafsa.ed.gov is a tremendous resource and will be the site from which you will be able to access the 2015 - 2016 FAFSA beginning January 1, 2015 . You can go to this website now and apply for your PIN, which is your electronic signature. Both the parents and students will need this PIN to complete the form.

You are encouraged to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1, 2015. It should not take you much more than an hour please use estimated tax information rather than waiting until you have completed your 2014 tax returns. If you complete the FAFSA based on estimated information, you should be able to submit by January 31 which meets the priority deadline for most schools.

If you do have specific financial aid questions, we do encourage you to contact either a person at one of the schools your student is applying to or simply one of the financial aid offices at a local community or four-year college. They are all so happy to answer questions and provide assistance, even if your student isn't applying to that school.
