Achievement Time (AT)

The last 15 minutes of class are known as AT or Achievement Time. Teachers may use this time to provide instruction to students who are below the C grade level or who need additional support. Those students not in AT may use this time between classes to meet with other students, do projects or homework or use the library.

The purpose of AT is to provide an intervention for students who struggle by allowing them some more individualized time with the teacher while providing an incentive for students to stay on track. The result of AT over the past three years has been positive, lowering the number of failing students and helping to close the achievement gap as demonstrated by our winning of a 2011 Washington State Achievement Award.
